I really enjoyed doing Project 2. I thought that the project itself was very interesting and the entire concept was something that made it really easy to do. This project allowed us to do work and research on topics of our choice so this allowed us to work on something that we are extremely interested in. I really wanted to do something based off of math, because I believe I am going to minor in mathematics. After talking to Professor Wilgar, she informed me that math was going to be very hard to do because of how little professions there are based off math. The first profession that I could think of was becoming a teacher and she then told me that is where most math majors end up. She then helped push me in the right direction. She wanted me to work on something related to math but it wasnt exactly math, this was code switching. Before doing research I had never heard of this but doing more and more research really made me interested in the topic. Code switching is when one person, usually a teacher, will change the language in which they are using to talk to more than one person. AS I did more and more research I said to myself that this is much more interesting than just doing math. After learning this I feel like I fully got an understanding of how hard it can be for a professional to talk to a non-professional at times and how translating it can be very hard.
Overall, I really enjoyed project 2!!!
